T-H-U-R-S-D-A-Y … Night! 

On Oct. 20, ArtRat Gallery joins with our fellow downtown businesses for Avenue for the Arts’ monthly Third Thursday shop and stroll. And with a treat bag of other Thursday events in our neighborhood, ArtRat will be just one stop in a complete evening of entertainment — most of it free, and all within a block’s walk!

Parking: Just 350 feet away is the Weston Commerce Ramp (18 Weston St. SW) — less than a minute's walk from your car to our gallery. This 750-space garage is open 24/7. It costs $4 for two hours, $15 to park all day, and $10 to park all night.

Little Book Fair: From 5pm to 9pm, Little Space Studio (111 Division Ave. S) is hosting a book and zine fair to highlight local authors and illustrators for Book Month. Roll up and score some fresh reads!

“Home Is a Garden”: The Thing to Do Thursday is a weekly art and performance series located at 106 Division Ave. S and curated by Dwelling Place Artist in Residence Brandon Copeland. This Thursday from 6pm to 8:30pm, Afro-Latino artist R.R. Tavárez introduces his latest photo series with a gallery opening that includes a poetry reading by Josiah Bostrom.

The Hai-Cuu Experience: Running 6pm to 8:30pm at ArtRat Gallery (46 Division Ave. S), this week’s edition of the celebrated hip-hop poetry event is co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. The mission of the event, created by hip-hop artist Cuu JoSama in conjunction with Kenneth Cortez Productions: to increase awareness about breast cancer in a community that has often been underserved.
