Dean Hunt arrived Sunday with his installation team to mount his interactive ArtPrize 2022 submission, evolutionARy. Dean is one of four artists exhibiting at ArtRat's "Converge" show, which runs through ArtPrize (Sept. 15 to Oct. 2) until the end of October.
You'll get two scheduled chances to meet Dean and learn about the technology behind his art:
- First, at ArtRat Gallery's opening reception for "Converge" Thursday, Sept. 15, from 5pm to 9pm
- Then, at a hands-on reception hosted by Dean at ArtRat Friday, Sept. 23, from 7pm to 9pm
evolutionary comprises a grid of 25 small paintings on canvas mounted on a wooden frame, each referencing a historical artist. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the context of each piece via their smartphones and Wisck AR, Dean's augmented-reality app.
