Leona Aluminum earrings

Leona is a series of hand beaded earrings inspired by American quilting. In the south of Georgia I grew up with homemade quilted blankets made by my great Aunt Leona. This design is another way for me to bring my culture into the form of jewelry art but in a modern way. The earrings are hand beaded with recycled Japanese glass matte beads. To add a modern touch they are finished pearl like anodized aluminum, 14K gold filled beads then threaded with cotton. I love the ragged effect to elevate an interest to the design.
