Leave by Missy Hines

Missy Hines is a conceptual artist whose work enables the viewer to experience the deeper issues her work often emulates. She uses various mediums to express dark emotions that are generally not socially acceptable to express with words. For the past sixteen years, Missy has used art as a strategy to deal with the mental and emotional effects of a debilitating, chronic illness called Fibromyalgia.  

Missy has participated in the Art of Recovery Gallery Exhibit in Piqua, Ohio for the past eleven years. For 2021, Missy’s piece “Boiling Point '' received the honor of  People's Choice Award.  Her piece titled “Jump” was chosen for display by the Sidney Police Department for 2016 and in 2017 her piece “Anger Unmasked'' received Best of Show and was again chosen for display by the Sidney Police Department.  In 2019 “Anger Unmasked” received the Piqua Public Library purchase Award and now has a permanent home at the Piqua Public Library.
